Detailed information
We stay at our Trips Villa, a gorgeous house with a luxury feel to it. The villa is located only a few minutes from the largest kitesurfing beach in Blouberg. The villa has a beautiful garden, a terrace with a BBQ, two sun decks and an outdoor swimming pool.
Breakfast in included in all our trips. The nearby restaurants offer several different cuisines. We will go out for dinner a few nights during our stay.
Our travel package does not include flights, which you book from your closest airport. Due to its popularity, Cape Town is well connected to most of the bigger European airports. We aim to get everyone booked on the same flight. In cases where it is not possible or if you are tied to specific travel dates, we recommend checking: British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, KLM, Turkish Airways, Lufthansa and South African Airways.
Cape Town is a vibrant city with plenty of stunning locations to visit, however the public transport is not the most reliable. The best way to get around Cape Town is by car. Therefore, we will be renting cars during our stay at a shared cost. The cost is normally around 3000 kr per car (excluding fuel).
The food in Cape Town is truly delicous! A nourishing and filling breakfast is included in all our kite trips. However, when visiting Cape Town it is essential to try the local cuisine. We will spend a few nights trying out nearby restaurants. Other evenings are spent relaxing in the garden cooking up a ‘braai’ – a South African BBQ. Lunches usually cost between 50-70 R (25-35 kr) and a three course dinner including drinks usually ends up between 200-250 R (100-125 kr).
The famous thermal wind from southeast is called ‘Cape Doctor’. It generally comes in around lunchtime with a speed of 10 m/s and picks up during the afternoon and evening to 15-20 m/s. Each year during the South African summer, the popular Red Bull King Of the Air competition is held in Cape Town. The wind is considered one of the best in the world at this time of the year.
